HISTORY
Smartlock was founded in 2007 and now boasts an impressive corporate customer base. The company supplies its solutions directly, as well as through selected distributors servicing various industries. These include access management, monitoring and associated products in Telecommunication and Utilities, cash management in Banking, cargo protection in the Logistics industry and secure examination management in Education. The company operates a national presence in South Africa, with full support and deployment capabilities. The company has also concluded several international deployments in Africa, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, UK, Europe and the USA.
2008
Launch of the innovative electronic access management solution for remote infrastructure in telecommunication and utility networks.
2014
Launch of an electronic script delivery solution for examination security and management.
Launch of the cost-effective Bluetooth-based Smartkey, making use of mobile phones to activate electronic locks.
2015
Launch of the Rhi-Node range of pre-fabricated, non-metal manhole chambers for telecommunications and utilities.
2016
Deployment of a dedicated secure access management solution.
2017
The launch of the water-tight access chambers for use in dolomite rich soil conditions.
2018
Penetrate banking, education and utilities markets.
2019
Implement in-house and global distribution structure.
2021
Become the de facto standard for chambers in the local telecoms and utilities markets.
2022
Introduce NB-IoT monitoring devices and a range of powered locks, activated with softkeys.
2023
Launch the dry underground distribution chamber with extractable 19” frame.

Expand presence in the Banking industry and register a subsidiary in the USA.
